Reacciones de jugadores y clubes de la MLS contra el racismo
El asesinato de George Floyd causó la indignación de millones de personas en USA, y los futbolistas y equipos de la MLS se lanzaron contra el racismo.
La MLS, equipos y futbolistas se encuentran consternados por la muerte de George Floyd, ciudadano estadounidense miembro de la comunidad negra que fue asesinado a manos de un oficial blanco mientras este lo sometía poniendo su rodilla sobre el cuello de la víctima durante cerca de nueve minutos. Este hecho desató múltiples protestas a lo largo de Estados Unidos, pues los ciudadanos exigen que la justicia para Floyd llegue ya y, al mismo tiempo, lanzan consignas para que el racismo se termine.
Debido a esto, jugadores y clubes de la MLS utilizaron sus cuentas de Twitter para externar su postura de apoyo a los manifestantes y y personas que han sufrido a causa del racismo que provoca injusticias cada día en Estados Unidos.
Uno de los primeros futbolistas en manifestarse fue el seleccionado estadounidense Alejandro Bedoya, quien dejó claro que "guardar silencio es ser cómplice" y pidió que no se tolere más el racismo y las injusticias que se viven en USA.
