Deportistas reaccionan al veredicto de Derek Chauvin por el asesinato de George Floyd
Este martes 20 de abril, un jurado de 12 miembros declaró al expolicía Derek Chauvin culpable de los tres cargos que se le imputaron por el asesinato de George Floyd.
Este martes 20 de abril, a casi un año del asesinato del ciudadano afroamericano George Floyd, el jurado declaró culpable al expolicía de Mineápolis Derek Chauvin. El exagente enfrentó tres cargos: asesinato involuntario en segundo grado, asesinato en tercer grado y homicidio involuntario en segundo grado, mismos de los que fue encontrado responsable de forma unánime.
Una vez que el jurado, conformado por 12 miembros, siete mujeres y cinco hombres, ha externado su deliberación, el juez dispondrá de ocho semanas para determinar la condena para Chauvin.
Sin duda, el mundo del deporte ha hecho sentir su presencia sobre lo acontecido durante el 2020 en torno a los actos de racismo vividos en Estados Unidos, en donde sobresalieron los asesinatos de los ciudadanos afroamericanos George Floyd y Breonna Taylor, además del tiroteo contra Jacob Blake, pues diversos atletas, clubes y selecciones se manifestaron en contra del racismo sistémico y la brutalidad policial y pidieron un alto a este.

Ahora, luego de externarse el veredicto del jurado, nuevamente el mundo del deporte se ha pronunciado al respecto, y sobre salen las palabras "justicia y responsabilidad" en torno a la conclusión final.
