As the 24th franchise of the MLS after joining in 2019, Cincinnati FC wanted to start their season in the right way; however, it couldn't happen since Seattle Sounders have no mercy on them scoring four goals to the rookie of the league. In the other hand, Leonardo Bertone will go down in history as the first player to score for Cincinnati in the MLS.
Efraín Álvarez in the MLS
Another debutant was the Mexican youngster Efraín Álvarez, who amazed locals and strangers since he only needed half an hour to displayed his quality with the ball. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the first to pronounce Álvarez has a bright future when meeting the press in the mixed zone. Guillermo Barros Schelotto compared the Mexican with Edwin Cardona saying he's a player with a lot of football.
The start of the champion
For the third time in a row, current MLS champion, Atlanta United, lost their Opening day match. De Boer's team lost to DC United in a game that ended at the 58th minute when Luciano Acosta made a mid-range shot beating 'The Five Stripes' goalkeeper.
Almeyda's start with San José
Almeyda started his process as Jose Earthquakes coach facing Montreal Impact, a task that seemed easy since they played at home field, where they didn't lose an opening match since 2016. But things didn't go as expected for the former Chivas manager as he lost his first match 1-2.
