The American boxer that is known by his eccentricities has found the one who could take his place and even surpass him in the boxing world in young boxer Gervonta Davis.
Gervonta Davis retained his WBA super-featherweight belt after a first-round knockout over former champion Hugo Ruiz.
I’m just getting started 😎💫— Gervonta Davis (@Gervontaa) February 11, 2019
Fight that was stopped after just two minutes and 59 seconds by referee Jack Reiss following a bombardment on the Mexican. Ruiz said afterward that the heaviness of Davis' punches struck him.

I’m very proud of this young man, beating all the odds and going on to become a 2 time world champion in just 20 fights, without any real amateur experience. Your record speaks for itself, 20 wins with 19ko’s! When you became a fighter, your goal was to make money, win belts and beat whoever they put in front of you, no matter how big or small the opponent was and that’s exactly what you have been doing! You don’t pick the opponents, you just fuck them up and keep it moving! So, stay focused, keep winning and keep earning those 7 figure paydays @gervontaa !
“If any fighter can surpass me, it’s this young man right here, which I truly believe, He’s going to be a household name. He’s going to be a pay-per-view star.”
The 24-year-old boxer had only one fight last year, hoping to change that this year, he wants to move a homecoming date in Baltimore scheduled for July, also has a pay-per-view fight around May. His goal is to have more fight during the year, something that 'Money' also likes as he fought ten times in 1997 before winning his first belt.
