{"id":743,"date":"2023-12-26T08:56:03","date_gmt":"2023-12-26T07:56:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/us.as.com\/autos\/?p=743"},"modified":"2023-12-26T16:14:46","modified_gmt":"2023-12-26T15:14:46","slug":"combustibles-sinteticos-efuels-que-son-por-que-surgen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/us.as.com\/autos\/tecnologia\/combustibles-sinteticos-efuels-que-son-por-que-surgen\/","title":{"rendered":"Combustibles sint\u00e9ticos o eFuels: \u00bfQu\u00e9 son y por qu\u00e9 surgen?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Es m\u00e1s que sabido que el sector del transporte es uno de los principales contribuyentes a las emisiones globales de gases de efecto invernadero y a la contaminaci\u00f3n del aire.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As\u00ed que para alcanzar los objetivos clim\u00e1ticos y mejorar la calidad de vida, <strong>es fundamental descarbonizar el sector de la movilidad y reducir su dependencia de los combustibles f\u00f3siles.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sin embargo, no todos los modos de transporte pueden electrificarse o funcionar f\u00e1cilmente con <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/us.as.com\/autos\/blog\/2023\/12\/09\/camiones-a-hidrogeno-la-solucion-para-el-transporte-pesado\/\">hidr\u00f3geno<\/a><\/strong>, como la aviaci\u00f3n, el transporte mar\u00edtimo o los veh\u00edculos pesados. Para estas aplicaciones, <strong>los combustibles sint\u00e9ticos o eFuel pueden ofrecer una alternativa prometedora.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-como-se-producen-los-combustibles-sinteticos\"><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo se producen los<\/strong> <strong>combustibles sint\u00e9ticos?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A diferencia de la gasolina o el diesel, los combustibles sint\u00e9ticos son combustibles sint\u00e9ticos que <strong>se producen a partir de electricidad, agua y di\u00f3xido de carbono <\/strong>renovables o descarbonizados.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pueden estar en forma gaseosa o l\u00edquida, como e-metano, e-queroseno, e-metanol o e-diesel y la principal ventaja <strong>es que pueden utilizarse en motores e infraestructuras existentes sin modificaciones importantes<\/strong>, a diferencia de los autos el\u00e9ctricos o de hidr\u00f3geno.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n se pueden mezclar con combustibles convencionales para reducir su intensidad de carbono. En primer lugar, consumen mucha energ\u00eda y <strong>su producci\u00f3n es costosa<\/strong>, ya que requieren varios pasos de conversi\u00f3n e insumos de alta calidad.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan un estudio de la <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rsc.org\/\">Royal Society of Chemistry<\/a><\/strong>, la producci\u00f3n de combustibles sint\u00e9ticos <strong>consume entre tres y seis veces m\u00e1s energ\u00eda<\/strong> que el uso directo de electricidad o hidr\u00f3geno en los veh\u00edculos.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Este mismo estudio estima que el coste actual de los e-fuels oscila entre 3.5 y 7.5 d\u00f3lares por litro de gasolina equivalente, cifra muy superior al coste de los combustibles f\u00f3siles o los biocombustibles. Por lo tanto, los combustibles sint\u00e9ticos <strong>necesitan subsidios sustanciales<\/strong> o impuestos al carbono para volverse econ\u00f3micamente viables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En segundo lugar, los combustibles sint\u00e9ticos tienen una disponibilidad y escalabilidad limitadas, ya que dependen de la disponibilidad de electricidad renovable o descarbonizada y de di\u00f3xido de carbono.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En tercer lugar, esta clase de combustible <strong>tienen un rendimiento y una eficiencia medioambientales inferiores <\/strong>a los de los veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos o de hidr\u00f3geno, ya que siguen produciendo emisiones y p\u00e9rdidas en el tubo de escape durante su producci\u00f3n, distribuci\u00f3n y uso.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Por lo tanto, es probable que los combustibles sint\u00e9ticos encuentren como m\u00e1ximo un peque\u00f1o nicho, predicen los expertos.
